Feminine Hygiene Products for Low Income Students (K-12)
On October 12, 2017, the Governor approved Assembly Bill 10. Effective on January 1, 2018, any public school maintaining any combination of classes from grade 6 through grade 12 that meets the 40% pupil poverty threshold for Title I eligibility must stock at least 50% of the student school’s restrooms with feminine hygiene products at all times at no cost to students. The statute defines “feminine hygiene products” as tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with the menstrual cycle.
