Experience: 

Ms. Merchat has over thirty years of experience in school and college law and public sector labor law.  Ms. Merchat assists school districts, county offices of education, and community college districts in a wide variety of school and college legal issues, including personnel matters, collective bargaining, student issues, charter school issues, workers’ compensation and Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, district governance, and numerous other matters.  In addition, Ms. Merchat assists districts to avoid litigation through preventive education by presenting at workshops and developing training and prevention materials.
