Legal Best Practices for Supporting Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming Students & Staff

Topics
In addition to covering federal and state law and local policy development regarding transgender issues affecting school districts, this workshop will explore thinking outside the box and legal best practices in serving transgender and gender-nonconforming students. Topics will include curriculum, bullying, nondiscrimination and harassment, facilities and athletics, dress code, free speech, teen dating violence, and parent enrollment forms, and student records. This workshop will also identify where legal protections and rights overlap for transgender employees, including applicants for employment.
